Near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) - new paint in the neonatologist palette

AbstractSince the introduction of technology in medicine, Near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) largely been used to assess brain oxygen status during cardiac and neurosurgery. However, today NIRS is a clinical monitoring tool with extensive use in many fields of medicine, including neonatology.
